Tinubu Condemns Killing of Arise News Anchor

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received with profound shock and deep sorrow the news of the brutal killing of Ms. Somtochukwu “Sommie” Maduagwu, a promising news anchor with Arise News Television, who was murdered during a robbery attack at her residence in Katampe, Abuja.

The President extends his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the management and staff of Arise News Television, as well as the wider media community, over this painful and tragic loss.

Describing Ms. Maduagwu as “a bright and promising journalist whose life was cruelly cut short in a condemnable manner,” President Tinubu directed security and law enforcement agencies to immediately launch a thorough investigation into the incident, ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly apprehended, and brought to justice without delay.

The President reassured Nigerians of his administration’s unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and property of all citizens. He emphasized that under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the government will continue to strengthen security measures across the country to combat crime in all its forms and prevent such tragedies from recurring.
