Authority of University of Ilorin has promoted 40 officers to the ranks of Deputy Registrar and Deputy Director respectively.

ROYAL NEWS reports that while seven became Deputy Registrar, no fewer than 33 were elevated to the rank Deputy-Directors including the General Manager of Unilorin FM 89.3, Mr. Ibrahim Idris (Alooma).

Meanwhile, the University’s Registrar, Dr. Folaranmi Modupe Olowoleni, has admonished all the newly promoted officers not to rest on their oars now that they get to the zenith of their career.

The Registrar stated this when he hosted all the newly promoted officers of the University of Ilorin who were at her office to collect her promotion letters.

Olowoleni said being a level 14 officer of a prestigious institution like the University of Ilorin does not translate to relaxing on duty, absconding from work, or shielding junior staff, rather, much is expected of the beneficiaries because to whom much is given, much is expected.

She appealed to them to justify their promotions by working harder than before, being responsible at work, being diligent at all times, and supporting the vision and mission of the university’s administration to make the university the best in the country and one of the best in the world.

The Registrar also admonished all the new senior staff of the institution to count themselves lucky because many dreamt of the post they now occupy but could not meet up either because of death, or health status, among others.

While describing their elevation as the wish of God and reward of hard work, the Registrar urged them to always remember that their new office is a position of high responsibility.

While encouraging them to show the world that they are indeed better by far staff of the university, the Registrar urged them to make the Council and Management proud for considering them worthy of the elevation.
