ASIWAJU’S PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION: MY JOURNEY TO FULFILMENT

“Say: O Allah, Master of the Kingdom! Thou givest the kingdom to whomsoever Thou pleasest and takest away the kingdom from whomsoever Thou pleasest, and Thou exaltest whom Thou pleasest and abasest whom Thou pleasest in Thine hand is the good; surety, Thou hast power over all things”. Qur’an Chapter 3 Verse 26.
The above verse of the Holy Qur’an is sufficient for simple explanation on what happened in the build up to the last election and indeed the final outcome. All Praises and Adorations to Almighty Allah.
By default of grace, I enjoy the best gift of Allah to humanity – *ISLAM*. And as a Muslim, I have come to learn, internalize and imbibe the principle of the mightiness of Allah that He alone determines the course of man. No one is even close by a trillion distance.
I have said and always maintained that the destiny of a man is not in the hands of another man except as it may be charged by Almighty Allah. Nothing can be more appropriate in the analogy of this than the outcome of the last presidential election and the eventual emergence of ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU as the President-elect.
About five years ago, I adopted the motto *”GOD IS HERE”* and I made it the last stamp on anything that I write. I do so because I have come to realize that God is in anything that we do and we can’t do anything without Him. When we submit to Him and hand over our affairs to Him, He directs us to our fulfilment. This is not a fatalism of laziness, rather, it is a call for help from Allah anytime we need to drive a cause. It has always been working for me.
I know many people will have stories to tell about this journey, it’s path and this destination, the zeal behind their path and the course they charted before we all got here. I have no doubt many of those stories will be told with the tone of patriotism. If I do not know of any, I know those of the likes of Chief Bayo Onanuga, Mr. Dele Alake, Mr. Wale Edun, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Zailani, Mall. Murtala Turaki, Hajia Hadiza Sambo of GAMJI, Mall. AbdulBaqi Jimoh, Dr. Aliyu AbdulKadir of ABU Teaching Hospital, and indeed my wonderful Mother who has virtually become my spiritual Consultant in this struggle.
I am going to use this opportunity to tell a short story of how I began mine and how Allah just blessed the journey with a fulfilment. Long before now, I have resolved to the conclusion that Asiwaju was going to contest for the position of the President and I have always loved him to do so. This fact was birthed as far back as 1992 prior to the 1993 presidential election. His unequal role in the restoration of democracy in 1999 could not have been well rewarded with the presidency. To Allah be the glory.
1n 2015, the success of the All Progressives Congress, APC, could not have been possible without the singular support of Tinubu. Allah alone deserves our praises. But He also enjoins us to show gratitude to whom it is due. Let’s not delve too much into how he made 2015 to happen, the literature is already full with texts of that. Fast forward, at the Eagle Square on May 29th, 2015, something happened that would have sent fears into the architecture of APC house, which, in it’s perception may mean a pinch on the skin of the sanctity of agreement It was a word of caution. That was when I started working towards today.
As 2023 approached, I started gathering my bricks and cement to be part of the layers who would make this presidential construction an edifice of success. I recognized the fact that I might not be with that huge financial resources that would have afforded me the opportunity to make heavy financial contributions to the campaign, so I resolved to what I considered the most potent weapon to fight the impending “battle” – *PRAYER*. So, In 2021, I started an employment process that was not originally my career line but which I had to do to get somewhere. That same 2021, I got an offer for a job opportunity in the United States of America. Naturally, I have never loved to relocate or lived outside Nigeria. Whenever I travelled, I am always in a hurry to return back to Nigeria. I have never found anywhere else as comfortable as my beloved country.
So, I decided to take up this job and in November 2021, I left for the US to resume this job. Nothing in the welfare package of this employment is ever attractive enough to me to abandon my country and stay back in US. All I wanted was a small financial strength that I could use to contribute to the campaign. If you are wondering how I intended to make such contribution, read the next line.
After about three month of “hard labour”, I called my Mother that I would be going for the 2022 Hajj and my main reason, the real intention behind my Ibadah was to pray for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to become Nigerian President. My Mother is my first and the last confidant. She is the only person I tell anything while she guides me to proper fulfilment. She gave her consent instantly and blessed my intention. Since that time, she began to follow me to pray for Tinubu with so much passion.
Immediately Asiwaju declared his intention to contest for the position in January 2022 I knew I was going to leave America as soon as I could notwithstanding that I was making an average of six thousand dollars a month, equivalent to over three million naira a month. So, by the end of March, I informed my employer about my intention to resign my appointment. They all thought I was stupid and crazy. Another friend, a Nigerian, based in the US too, who had little hope about Nigeria and anything that happens here thinks I was banking on false hope about Nigeria’s progress, to leave America for Nigeria. They all discouraged me from leaving. But they did not see what I was seeing. So, in April 2022, I returned home to start preparation for my own intended contributions to the campaign and that was Hajj which I eventually made between July and August.
It is worthy of note that 2022 Hajj was my first ever and the intentions were deliberate and express. I had three main prayer points before Allah, aside the sacrosanct intention to comply with the commandment of Allah as one of the five pillars of Islam:-
1) *To beseech Allah to grant me forgiveness in my shortcomings and answer all my future supplications*.
2) *To beseech Allah to crown Asiwaju’s efforts and crown him the 16th President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It was a prayer done with uncontrollable tears of submission to Allah*.
3) *To beseech Allah to grant me the opportunity to participate in Asiwaju’s government, to be appointed as the CEO of one of the top most anti-corruption Agencies in Nigeria*.
There is an assurance from Allah that He will always answer us whenever we call upon Him for help. I give Allah the glory that two of these requests have been granted thus far. As a human that I am, whenever I realize that I have sinned, I seek for Allah’s forgiveness. When I do, the first sign of answered prayer that I have always noticed is that an old friend or anybody at all whom I have not seen nor spoken to in years, or anyone that I am quarreling with will call me for reconciliation. Then, by that, I know Allah has answered my prayers. And whatever I place before Him after then, He often grants my wishes.
The second wish being Asiwaju to win the election has also come to past and Inn Shaa Allahu, *ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU* will be sworn in accordingly on May 29, 2023, Maa Shaa Allahu.
It is my fervent belief that the third wish shall also come to past. By my promise to Allah, I shall return to Makkah this year for another Hajj to thank Allah for granting my requests.
I have given this background to point to the efficacy of prayers. Sometimes, human power over-stretches it’s bearing, as though such is not limited in effectiveness. There is no power except by Allah.
Asiwaju’s emergency is a combination of many things but all of those are driven by divine Authority – *ALLAH*. No man has ever faced such fierce antagonism to an ambition and survived. Now, I am convinced even deeper that whatever Allah has decreed to be, no man can direct otherwise.
The outcome of this election would not have been possible without the contributions of so many patriots who supported the campaigns with everything they have – those whose strengths were prayers, those who offered financial supports, those whose words were the weapons, those whose conscience were the tool of defence and those who refused to stand on the plank of treachery. When you remember the roles played by APC Governors especially of the northern extraction, you cannot but say thank you to them all, they were the heroes of this victory. God used all these people in different forms to actualize this dream. When Allah wants to ease your way to success, even your adversaries will not know when they are creating the path of that success for you, wittingly or unwittingly.
In humility and gratitude, I want to therefore use this opportunity to say Alhamudulillahi Rabbil Alameena to Almighty Allah Who answers all prayers in His own way. I thank Allah Who demystified the false prophecies of the agents of doom who saw nothing in their vision but claimed clairvoyance in their blindness. I thank Allah Who just proved right that He is God of justice Who does not support hypocrisy and conspiracy. I thank Allah Who has just publicly disclaimed all those impostors who are claiming to be ministers in His cabinet. I thank Allah Who has chosen to reward the kindnesses, generosity, altruism patriotism and humility of Asiwaju to show that He cannot stand to forsake those who spend in the course of Allah. I thank Allah Who did not lay credence to the merchants of armageddon’s evil wish, the “spiritual guess workers” calling themselves “prophets”. I thank Allah for all that He has done and will do in the future, Alhamudulillahi Rabbil Alameena.
I now beseech Allah again not to abandon Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu today, tomorrow and always. I pray Thee that He should continue to improve AHMED in good health, grant him the best of physical, mental and emotional health to lead this country to the desired greatness. I beseech Allah to please protect Asiwaju from the look of the evil eyes, I beseech Allah to please, fortify Asiwaju against all forms of attacks, physical and spiritual. I beseech Allah to grant Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu long life and sound health. I beseech Allah to guide him and shield him from the manipulations of selfish people who will be working for him and around him for their own selfish interest alone. I beseech Allah to save him from the manipulations of trojans who will want to infect him with virus of non-performance, I beseech Allah to protect him from hypocrites who may want to derail him from focusing on good governance and those who may want to mislead him to the wrong path. I beseech Allah to continue to improve the love between *ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU and his Vice President, KASHIM SHETTIMA*. I beseech Allah to send far away from them any evil mind that will cause rift between the two. I beseech Allah to continue to enrich them both in knowledge and capacity so that they can deliver on their promises to Nigerians. May Allah Subuhanah Watahala answer all our prayers, Ameena Ya Allahu.
