EXPOSED ….. Why I facilitated new secretariat for Kwara APC — Gobir

A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Kwara State, Alhaji Yakubu Gobir, on Saturday revealed the circumstances that led to the facilitation and donation of a new secretariat to the party in the state.

Gobir who addressed party supporters at the official commissioning of the edifice located at No. 6 Asa road , G.R.A Ilorin stated that the initiative was construed as a result of the aftermath of the party’s governorship primaries.

ROYAL NEWS reports that no fewer than 12 aspirants participated in the guber primaries which was concluded on 16th October 2018, and eventually produced Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq as the flag-bearer.

Gobir, who is also the Waziri Hausa noted that, “the outcome of the primaries was shocking and saddened to most of us who contested . In fact, some aspirants don’t even bother coming home anymore and the project of liberating Kwara was gradually suffering . I began to reflect on many factors that can Unite us again as like minds.

“That was why I concluded that going back to our old secretariat will continue to remind us of past events and there is no way we can move forward in such circumstance. I therefore thought of putting up a befitting building to serve as our new secretariat and to the glory of God,  we have done it.”

He however advised APC supporters in the state to campaign vigorously for the party across the three senatorial districts of the state and deliver President Muhammadu Buhari for second term and Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq as governor of Kwara state.

Waziri also said the new party secretariat shall serve as control room for electioneering affairs especially during the forthcoming polls.

Also speaking, the Minister  for Information  and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, disclosed that, “I am bold of the victory of the party in the forthcoming pollsat all levels. “

He therefore named the new Kwara APC secretariat “Unity House”, even as he thanked Gobir for tbe gesture and commitment to the liberation struggle in the state.

In his remarks, the Nigeria Ambassador to Malaysia and Brunei, Ambassador Nurudeen Muhammad, charged all party’s members to return to their various senatorial districts and wards to campaign massively for the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming polls.

However, the Party’s Chairman, Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa, appealed to all party members to make it as part of their duties in their respective areas to retire to their various units to gather votes for All Progressives Congress and commended Waziri Gobir for donating the building to the party.
