FG slam new charges on Nnamdi Kanu
The Federal Government on Monday brought new charges against the detained leader of the Outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
The Federation Attorney General’s Office in the amended application, submitted to a Federal High Court, Abuja, chaired by Judge Binta Nyako, increased the charges from seven to 15 counts.
The Nigerian News Agency reports that the amended charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015 was signed by Director of Public Prosecutions MB Abubakar.
The IPOB leader, who faces a seven-count felony charge of treason, is expected to enter his new 15-count guilty plea on January 19, when the matter will go up for hearing.
NAN reports that the court set, December 2, 2021, Tuesday to hear some pending applications filed by the prosecution and defense.
