Members of the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria all over the Country have been called upon to redouble their efforts in fulfilling the mandate of the Organization.
This was contained in a Communique issued at the end of one-day meeting held Saturday with members of the Oyo State Chapter of the group held in Ibadan, Oyo State .
The meeting which was presided-over by the National Coordinator of the Group, Alh. Abdullahi Ibrahim, dwelled on improved activities of the Group at the States level, improving members monitoring strategy of Electronic and Social Media as well as reading through Newspapers, Magazines and Journals with a view of correcting any misconception and mis-information about Islam and the Muslims.
In a Communique issued at the end of the meeting, members called for regular meeting of State Members in their various State Capitals and increased membership drive integrating more Muslim Journalists, Producers and Presenters of Islamic Programmes into the Organization for effective and efficient performance.
The meeting commended the effort of academics in Group for their involvement in Da’wah (Islamic Propagation) Programmes and admonished preachers of Islam on electronic media to be articulate and ensure quality presentation with their submission being based on Qur’an and Sunnah.
It condemned divisive preaching that could lead to disunity among the Muslims, calling for synergy in responsible dissemination of the message of Islam adding that Allah’s injunction to believers is ‘to hold to the cord of Allah and be disunited’.
The Communique also stated that participants at the Meeting called for more sponsorship of Islamic Programmes on the electronic media all over the Country with a view of bringing the true message of Islam to all and sundry.
Present at the meeting from Oyo State among others were Alh. Masud Akintola, Ustaz Abdul-Ganiyy Abdulsalaam, Alh. Musbau Animashaun, Bro. Saeed Abdulsalaam and Hajia Kudrat Apampa.
