Insecurity: Emir of Ilorin advocates synergy between traditional institutions, security agencies
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has urged government at all levels to prioritise the welfare of their citizenry to further reduce crime and criminality in Nigeria.
In a statement issued by the National Secretary of Shehu Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir sought for the support of Nigerians in fighting the persisting insecurity ravaging some states in the North-eastern part of the country.
The Emir who spoke on Saturday in Gwandu Emirate Council, Kebbi state at a book launch in honour of the Emir of Gwandu , Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar Ilyas, advocated for a working synergy between traditional institutions and security agencies.
He also commended the military for their relentless efforts towards restoring peace and harmony in the crisis prone areas stressing that “it is only in an atmosphere of peace that the nation can witness the desired growth and development .
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari also warned parents and guardians to be vigilant about the activities of their children and wards through improved moral values and educational advancement.
ROYAL NEWS reports that the Emir however prayed for the quick economic recovery of the nation and restoration of the loss values and economic fortunes of the northern region.
