Kwara is a Potential Haven for Investors— Olukoju

Kwara State has been described as a potential haven for investors, as opposed to “civil servants state” it has been known for over decades.

This, Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon Bola Olukoju stated this in Ilorin, this week, while featuring on a live television programme titled, “Network Kwara,” on Kwara Television Authority, sponsored by the Ministry.

During the live broadcast, salient issues bordering on the development of Kwara State were discussed, as Olukoju who was at the recently concluded Intra Africa Trade Fair which was held at Cairo in Egypt, highlighted the commitments of Kwara State Government, towards the promotion of entrepreneurial potentials, showcased at the fair.

The Commissioner disclosed that, the trade fair provided an avenue to showcase Kwara to the whole world as an investment destination as well as various developmental projects, this administration has embarked on and the abundant solid minerals the State of Harmony is blessed with.

She further laid emphasis on the opportunities that the IATF will provide for local businesses in Kwara which include; access to funding, enhancement of crafts, promote tourism and cultural heritage, strengthen integration owing to the peaceful atmosphere, enabled by the State Government, for local businesses to thrive.

According to her, the fair which was organized by the AFRIEXIM Bank is the third edition, aimed at providing avenue for sellers, buyers and investors across Africa to connect and also create a leveled ground, for Africans to project their cultural heritage to the world.

In the same vein, Olukoju explained that the signing of partnership deal with IHS Towers and Ilorin Innovation Hub will help ensure that the hub gets to the desired stage.

She reiterated that the partnership was borne out of creating a tech ecosystem, noting that the Ilorin Innovation Hub is first of its kind in West Africa and when completed, will provide careers in data analysis, digital marketing and skills and other relevant tech fields.
