The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has described the death of the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Sikiru Woleola II, as shocking, unfortunate and surprising.

The monarch also said that the late traditional ruler did his best for the people of Ajase-Ipo, Igbomina land, Kwara State and humanity at large during his lifetimes.

He stated this in a condolence message issued by his Spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, on Monday stressing that, “We shall miss his sterling qualities of unity, peace and tranquility which he was known for in the State Council of Chiefs’ Assembly.

According to him, “I received the news of the demise of the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Adedotun Atanda Woleola II with great surprise because he was hale and hearty during our last discussions. He was a devout Muslim, a unique leader par excellence, humane and visionary. He held the position of Chairman Igbomina Traditional Council diligently.

“My prayers and hearts are with his immediate and extended families, people of Ajase-Ipo, members of the Olupo-In-Council, the entire Igbomina sons and daughters globally, government and people of Kwara State over the colossal loss.

“May Almighty Allah forgive the shortcomings of the late Olupo Woleola II, accept his good deeds and admit him into al-janatul firdaos.”
