Participants shows displeasure over inadequate preparation of AAMA Conference

Aminat Isah, Abuja
Participants of Association of African Maritime Administrations (AAMA) conference have on Wednesday expressed displeasure and disappointment over the inadequate preparation of the registration exercise of the international conference scheduled to commence today April 19 to 21 at Transcorp Hilton Abuja.

Some participants who arrived the venue as at 8.a.m said no personnel was ground to give a proper information on the change in the programme registration.

A participant and maritime consultant, Adamu Mohammed, noted that the manner in which the first day of the three days event was handled from lack of personnel to provide key information from NIMASA or any other agencies handling the administration part is improper.

He added that, “Am not impressed at all with the organization of this event, on the programme, today is for registration which is to start by 8.a.m, now is almost 11.a.m, no personnel on ground, people are just hanging around here.

“It is not right, this is an international conference which we need to show the lead to other  Africa nation.”

Also speaking, a Naval Architect, Mr. Ojo Adekunle, on his path said the information given to the public was different  from what is on ground, with people hanging around the venue with no information on the registration exercise.

“If the officials can even come around and tell us what is happening it would have been better.

” I don’t think participants should get here before the officials, is not right.”
