You’re a dependable ally, Lawan tells Omo-Agege @58
Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, has described his deputy, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, as an invaluable colleague and dependable ally in the leadership of the upper legislative chamber.
Lawan stated this in a message of felicitation with Omo-Agege, on the auspicious occasion of his 58th birthday tomorrow (Tuesday, August 3).
The Senate President, açcording to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Ola Awoniyi, joins other distinguished senators, his family members, friends and political associates in celebrating the joyous occasion with his deputy whom he describes as “a worthy son of Urhobo and great representative of Delta Central Senatorial District.”
“Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has been an invaluable colleague and dependable ally in the leadership of the august assembly of the ninth Senate.
“This has enabled us to work in harmony between us and with fellow Distinguished Senators who had graciously given us the mandate to pilot the affairs of the Upper Chamber.
“I am confident that we will continue to work together as we have done so far to enhance the delivery of the promises contained in the Legislative Agenda that we published at the inception of the ninth Senate in 2019,” Lawan said.
The Senate President wishes the Obarisi of Urhobo land many more years of good health, happiness and continued impactful service to his fatherland.
An indigene of Orogun in Ughelli Local Government Area of Delta State, Omo-Agege was born on August 3, 1963 and he’s a graduate of the University of Benin, Edo State.
A lawyer by profession, he’s a two-term senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, from 2015 to date. He was first elected on the platform of the Labour Party, LP before he detected to the All Progressives Congress, APC in 2017.
Before becoming a lawmaker, the Deputy Senate President was an Executive Assistant to former Governor James Ibori, who later appointed him Commissioner for Special Duties and Secretary to the State Government, SSG. He contested to be governor but lost to Emmanuel Uduaghan in the primary election under the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
