Christians have been charged to pray fervently for the country to reflate its economy and overcome the current economic hardship.

A National Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress,(APC) Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, gave the admonition on Friday in a statement issued from his media office in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital to felicitate with christians on the celebration of Christmas.

He also appealed to Nigerians to pray hard so that the country can equally overcome its security challenges.

Baraje however stressed the need for those performing holy pilgrimage in Jerusalem to beseech Jesus Christ to come to the rescue of Nigeria, saying that the country is in dire need of prayers to confront her present economy recession.

Alhaji Baraje while urging Christians to emulate the exemplary lifestyle and leadership qualities of Jesus Christ, asked them not to over celebrate the Christmas but see it as a sober reflection and period of prayers.

The APC Chieftain, used the occasion to appeal to adherents of Islam and Christianity to be tolerant, patient, peaceful and united to move the country forward and pray fervently for the leaders for God to always guide aright.

He condemned all those fomenting trouble under the cover of religion and therefore appealed to both Muslims and Christians to continue to live together in peace and protect the integrity of Nigeria as one nation.
