AbdulRazaq mourns civil rights activist, Bashiru Saliu

Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has commiserated with the Civil Society Community on the death of Mr Bashiru Saliu of Meadows Community Development Outreach (MCDO), describing it as shocking and painful.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, on Wednesday in Ilorin.

AbdulRazaq described the activist as a man of great impacts, who gave his all in the service of the community and was known for his team spirit and passion to serve humanity.

“Everyone has testified to the positive impacts that Mr Saliu had on the people around him and his roles within the Kwara State civic space.

“This is a consolation to thank Almighty God for a life well spent, however painful his death is to all of us.

“I send my heartfelt condolences to his family, other members of the MCDO, and the entire civil society movement in the state.

“May he find forgiveness, peace and deserving rest with God,” the statement read in part.
