Covid-19: AGF Donates Palliatives To 5,000 Household In Kebbi

No fewer than five thousand households in Kebbi state have benefitted from the Covid-19 palliatives donated by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami SAN, to serve as palliatives against hardship occasioned by the novel Coronavirus pandemic and assist the targeted group to observe Ramadan fast with ease.
The ten trucks of assorted food stuffs which will be distributed to over five thousand households across the state were delivered to Khadimiyya for Justice and Development Initiative for onward distribution to beneficiaries.
Speaking to newsmen, the National Coordinator of the NGO Alhaji Malami Abdulkadir said the items include 2600 bags of rice, 1000 bags of Sugar, 300cartons of Spaghetti, 1000 bags of Millet,and 1000 Jerry-can of Vegetables oil.
Alhaji Abdulkadir said to ensure the equitable distribution of the items ,his organization has constituted distribution committee under the leadership of Bello Muhammad Nasarawa Dan Dakan Gwandu.
He noted that his NGO has the instructions of the Attorney General of the Federation to target orphans, disabled, widows, and the less privileged.
“The Honourable Minister’s benevolence also covers Religious Leaders and most vonulreble in the society amongst the five thousand households,” explained Abdulkadir.
Being the first and largest individual intervention to cushion the effect of the novel Coronavirus in Kebbi State, the committee chairman Alhaji Bello Dan Dakan Gwandu promised to adhere strictly with the terms of reference given to his committee, adding that he will ensure equitable distribution of the consignment to the less privileged and most vulnerable in the society.
The Attorney General of the Federation call on Muslim faithfuls in the state to use the blessed month of Ramadan to pray for the end of the pandemic, peaceful coexistence and ease from the current challenges.
Also speaking the BOT Chairman of the Foundation Abubakar Usman Gotomo called on kebbi state citizens and entire people of Nigeria to abide by the rules and regulations spelt out by relevant authorities and health experts on preventive measures against the pandemic.
He further urge them to give the State government and the State covid-19 task force team as well as security agencies all the necessary support to make their work a success.
