The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the Central States of the country on Tuesday.

It said in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Monday in Abuja that there were also prospects of localized morning thunderstorms over Abuja, Kaduna, Mambilla, Yelwa and Bida.

Similarly, it predicted prospects of localized thunderstorms over Minna, Abuja, Lafia, Jos, Makurdi, Jalingo and Yola later in the day.

The agency added that the central region would have day and night temperatures of 28 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius to 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

It predicted increased morning cloudiness with localized rain over the Southern States of Port Harcourt and Calabar with day and night temperatures of 32 degrees Celsius to 34 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.

It also stated that localized thunderstorms may be recoreded at Ado Ekiti, Oshogbo, Abeokuta, Owerri, Awka, Abakaliki, Yenogoa, Warri, Port Harcourt and Eket during the evening and night period.

According to NiMet, Northern States will experience partly cloudy-to-cloudy conditions in the morning, with prospects of localized thunderstorms over Sokoto, Kano, Dutse, Gusau and Maiduguri in the afternoon and evening.

The region will also have day and night temperature of 39 degrees Celsius to 44 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius to 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.

“Increased cloudiness with prospects of localized thunderstorms is expected over the North and most parts of the country in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
