(FULL NAMES) 31 lecturers become Professors, 38 others bag Readers at UNILORIN

The Governing Council of the University of Ilorin has approved the appointment/promotion of 31 new Professors and 38 Readers in the various Departments of the institution.

This was one of the highlights of the 182nd Meeting of the Council held on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd December, 2022.

A statement from the Registrar/Secretary to Council, Dr Fola M. Olowoleni, disclosed that the approval followed the consideration of recommendations from the Appointments and Promotions Committee (A&PC) on elevations to the ranks of Professors and Readers based on 2020 and 2021 promotion exercises.

The new Professors are: Dr S. A. Babatunde, Department of Haematology; Dr A. O. Adeyina, Department of Animal Production; Dr Taibat T. Adebisi, Department of Home Economics and Food Science; Dr R. M. O. Kayode, Department of Home Economics and Food Science; Dr L. O Ibraheem, Department of Arabic, Dr A. O. Shittu, Department of Haematology and Blood Transfusion; Dr G. O. Omotoso, Department of Anatomy; Dr A. B. Makanjuola, Department of Behavioural Sciences; Dr A. Tella, Department of Library and Information Science; Dr T. O. Ibraheem, Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education; Dr Modinah A. O. Abdulraheem, Department of Chemistry; and Dr I. A. Raufu, Department of Veterinary Microbiology.

Also promoted Professors are: Dr Olabisi F. Adekola, Department of Agronomy; Dr J. O. Olaniyan, Department of Agronomy; Dr S. A. Biliaminu, Department of Chemical Pathology; Dr O. A. Oyewopo, Department of Anatomy; Dr M. T. Salman, Department of Physiology; Dr M. J. Saka, Department of Epidemiology and Community Health; Dr Hadijat O. Raji, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Dr O. A. Olarinoye, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Dr O. A. Afolabi, Department of Othorhinolaryngology; Dr Omotayo O. Adesiyun, Department of Paediatrics and Child Health; Dr O. O. Adeleke, Department of Civil Engineering; Dr I. T. Yusuf, Department of Civil Engineering; Dr A. S. Adekunle, Department of Mechanical Engineering; Dr I. B. Abdullahi, Department of Finance; Dr I. B. Kadiri, Department of Industrial Relations and Personnel Management; Dr O. I.
