FULL SPEECH OF EMIR OF ILORIN AT NIGERIA SUGAR INSTITUTE FORMAL COMMISSIONING
BEING GOODWILL MESSAGE DELIVERED BY HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS, ALHAJI (DR.) IBRAHIM SULU-GAMBARI CFR, EMIR OF ILORIN AND CHAIRMAN KWARA STATE COUNCIL OF CHIEFS DURING THE FORMAL COMMISIONING OF THE NIGERIA SUGAR INSTITUTE ALONG ILORIN-KABBA HIGHWAY ON THURSDAY 28th JANUARY 2021.

In The Name of Allah The Most Merciful The Most Benevolent. It gives me great honour to be part of this epoch making event aimed at advancing the course of developing our dear nation in line with the federal government’s aspiration of creating more capability and potentiality in Sugar industry for rapid economic growth .
I commend the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR for providing quality leadership which has led to the actualization of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the National Sugar Institute (NSI) of India and the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC) of Nigeria recently.
This is a mission well-accomplished because it will further boost industrialisation and investment in sugar production as well as create platforms for job creation and eradication of youths restiveness in our society.
The aged long harmonious diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and India has further been fulfilled by this project with advanced technologies and innovations. I am aware that this new project would generate more than 400 mega-watts of electricity and also produce more than 160 million litres of ethanol.
At this juncture, let me commend the Honourable Minister for Industry, Trade and Investments, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, for his outstanding performances since his appointment into the office, we are indeed very proud your drives towards boosting the status of Industries in Nigeria.
While welcoming the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Abhay Thakur, into Kwara State I commend the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his outstanding leadership drives in the state.
I salute all our stakeholders, Captains of Industries, Heads of government agencies and parastatals as well as our friends from India who are relevant to the actualization of this laudable for doing a wonderful job.
