All Progressive Party, (APC) Oyo South Senatorial Candidate, Chief Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has vowed to lobby and mobilize people of like-minds in the red Chambers to ensure total autonomy for the 774 Local Government in the Country if elected as Senator in the forthcoming general elections.

Alli further promised to provide jobs for the people of his Senatorial district and Oyo State in general through his influence from the upper Chamber and adequate focus on agriculture in the state.

The APC Chieftain who is also the Maye of the Ibadan land made the declaration When answering questions at the Guest Forum organised by members of the Correspondent’s Chapel, Oyo State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalist, NUJ, in the Mokola roundabout office in Ibadan.

The Oyo State South Senatorial hopeful said “generally, local governments are not allow to function properly in Nigeria adding that, “that of Oyo State is bad because governor Seyi Makinde has derobed them of their responsibility as third tier of government.”

“Critical looking from the present political dispensation the local governments in Oyo had being operating from regime of Alhaji Lam Adesina ,Chief Rashidi Ladoja, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala and Senator Abiola Ajimobi but this regime of Engr. Seyi Makinde is the worst .

“We lernt that he was given then million naira on monthly bases but later stop it. What can a local government achieve with ten million naira.? You collect their money and you’re giving them stipends . We heard that they must write a letter or application to the governor before embarking on anything. This is unfair ,we shall stop this if am elected.”

Chief Alli berated the Oyo State governor , Engr Makinde accusing him of borrowing billions of naira to revamp the farm settlements in oyo town ,igboora, and others in the state ,but, refused to do so till now.

According to him ” agriculture is one major sector not only that can provide jobs for the unemployed but it can provide food and increase the internal generated revenue for the state. But, this government borrowed billions of naira in the name of agriculture but diverted the money. By the special grace of God I will collaborate with the coming governor to make this state a food basket of Nigeria.”

Alli emphasized that the health condition in the state is so problematic to the level of people going to the University College Hospital ,UCH , today to treat common malaria , because, the state hospitals have been abandoned by the state government . I promised that APC government shall reverse this after the election.
