UNILORIN, Al-Hikmah VCs, others pay last respect to late Fountain varsity VC’s mother

Family members on Wednesday organized fidau prayers in honour of Hajia Amudat Saji-Odusote the mother of the Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo, Professor Ramota Karim.

ROYAL NEWS reports that the event was held of the the NASFAT Tanke branch prayer ground with dignitaries from various walks of life present to pay their last respect to the deceased.

Hajia Saji-Odusote died on Friday at the age of 89 and was buried according to Islamic injunction.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Egbewole SAN was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Prof. Abayomi Omotesho; while the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management Services, Prof. Sulyman Funsho Ambali, Provost of College of Health Sciences, Unilorin, Prof. Sulyman Alabi, University Librarian, Dr. Kamaldeen Omopupo, Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Prof. Noah Yusuf and management staff of Fountain University, Osogbo were at the event.

Other dignitaries are; Two former Grand Khadis of the Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, Ilorin, Hon. Justice Idris Abdullahi Haroon and Justice Ola AbdulKadir, State Director of the State Security Service, Professor Folahan Adekola of the Chemistry Department, University of Ilorin, members of FOMWAN and NASFAT among other notable Islamic organization.

In his lecture, NASFAT Head Missioner, Tanke branch, Alhaji Ishaq Jibril, admonished Muslims to be conscious of the day of judgment by embarking on good deeds capable of qualifying them for the forgiveness of Almighty Allah.

He noted that the deceased lived a worthy life as a devoted and pious Muslim who gave her all to ensure that her children become integral part of national growth and educational development stressing that, “Such efforts will not go unrewarded by Allah.”

He prayed that Almighty Allah forgive all her misdeeds and admit her her into paradise even as he prayed for all the surviving family members and besieged Allah to grant them the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the great loss.
