UNILORIN, John Maxwell group to collaborate on leadership training
The University of Ilorin and a United States-based leadership training organisation, the John Maxwell Team, have agreed to commence a collaborative leadership training programme.
This followed a meeting between the University of Ilorin and the Representative of The John Maxwell Team, Dr. Bisi Tofade.
Speaking at the meeting, which was called to discuss the modalities for the commencement of the programme, Dr. Tofade expressed the willingness of his organisation to partner the University of Ilorin in leadership training on Strategic Leadership, Advanced Executive leadership, Chief Executive Leadership and Global Leadership Programmes.
Explaining the rationale for the programme, Dr. Tofade noted that development is tied to leadership, adding that for Nigeria to be great among the nations, model leaders must be trained for the future generation.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON), assured the visiting team of the readiness of the University to partner their organisation with the expected result of win-win situation.
Prof. Ambali thereafter directed the facilitating centre, the Unilorin Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies (CPSS) to commence discussion on the take-off of the proposed leadership programme after due consultation with the Legal Unit of the University.
The Director of CPSS, Dr. M. A. Adedimeji, had earlier introduced The John Maxwell Team to the University management.
