Kwara Police reunites rescued Chinese national with family
In a statement issued by its spokesperson, DSP Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, the police stressed that the operation was a major breakthrough of the Command’s fight against kidnapping in the state under CP Victor Olaiya.
Ejire-Adeyemi noted that “six armed men forcefully abducted the Chinese national who Lodged at Cherish Guest House eiyenkorin, Ilorin on 10th March 2024, sparking concerns and fear within the community.”
The statement reads: “Through diligent and coordinated efforts, the Command’s Tactical Teams and vigilante executed a series of strategic search and investigation leading to the safe rescue of the victim in the early hours of 19th March, 2024.
“The command is pleased to confirm that the victim has since been reunited with his family unharmed. This achievement underscores the unwavering commitment of the Kwara State Police Command to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors within the state.”
She however affirmed that the Kwara State Police Command, “under the undaunted and excellent leadership of the Commissioner of Police CP Victor OLAIYA (psc+), remains steadfast in pursuing justice and holding accountable those responsible for such criminal act.”
The statement therefore urged the general public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.
